It seems incredible to me that people are still basing their knowledge of sharks on what they learned from a 1970s Hollywood movie, so I thought we should bust this myth well and truly.
We have demonized these creatures, these apex predators, vital for the health of our oceans, almost out of existence. And it’s got to stop now. Let sharks be.

Sharks have keen olfactory senses with some species able to detect one part per million of blood in seawater; they can also determine the direction of a given scent.
