Situated on the picturesque Bunaken Island, nestled within the heart of the Bunaken National Marine Park, Bastianos Bunaken Dive Resort offers a gateway to natural beauty and underwater wonders.
Located on Liang Beach, the southern part of the island, the resort provides breathtaking sunset views and boasts the longest, most pristine sandy beach on Bunaken Island. It’s the perfect destination for families, as the beach offers a safe and enjoyable playground for children.
Bunaken Island is one of 5 islands that make up the Bunaken Marine Park. The seas around the islands are very deep, in some places more than 600m deep, and the islands are pinnacles that reach the surface.

The transfer from Manado Airport takes approximately 30 minutes by car, bringing you to the pier in Manado City. From there, a 60-minute boat ride will transport you directly from the mainland to our charming resort on Bunaken Island.
The resort offers a variety of comfortable accommodation options to suit your needs. Choose from the Deluxe Beachfront and Superior Beachfront Rooms, Superior Hillside, and a few Standard Hillside Rooms.
Superior Beachfront Rooms
17 Superior Beachfront Rooms offer the perfect blend of modern amenities and tropical charm. Each Superior Beachfront Room has a private veranda that opens up to views of the beach and the sea beyond. Each room has a en-suite Western bathroom with hot and cold water.
Standard Hillside Rooms
Standard Rooms are nestled on the hillside of Bunaken Island, each room positioned to provide the most stunning ocean views. Rooms have a/c and a fan and a private balcony.
The dive sites around Bunaken have dramatic drop-offs mixed with sloping areas and beautiful coral gardens at the tops of the reef. There is a huge variety of soft and hard corals that offer a home to an abundance of reef fish and critters.
There are lots of fusiliers, butterflyfish, sweetlips, cardinal fish, and damsel fish everywhere. Lots of green and hawksbill turtles are seen swimming and sleeping on the reef walls. Bigger things like tuna, humphead parrotfish, wahoo, barracuda, and reef sharks are often seen swimming past the reef. Hiding on the wall there are lots of smaller critters such as scorpion fish, shrimps, nudibranchs, lionfish, and seahorses hidden on the walls.
Bunaken is a destination suitable for all levels of divers but the steep wall going down to the abyss offers a great opportunity to dive deeper and it is better to be an advanced diver to fully enjoy the dive sites.
On the shallow part of the reef, you will always find a superb and colourful coral garden around 4m deep and it is a great way to make your safety stop and get last underwater shots. These coral gardens are regarded as the best in the world making it a great playground for snorkelers too.
Bastianos Divers has been a PADI Dive Center member (R-34063) since 2004. The team of Bastianos Divers at Bunaken are professional staff with many years of experience diving in the area. We are proud that all of our dive guides are locals from Manado and the surrounding area and know the diving conditions very well.
The dive centre has 2 compressors and 4 modern diving boats, dedicated camera room for divers to keep and store their underwater cameras or housing, a working table for assembling before and after dive, to be used as a recharging station for digital compact cameras or sports cameras. Drying room for storing your wet equipment after staff rinses them for you. 1st aid oxygen in every dive boat and one stored in our dive shop at the resort
