Actually a hard one to pick; shaped like a Humbug but without the give-away zebra striping. This one has a well pronounced scale pattern with dark band behind the head.
Scalyfin shaped – triangular posterior dorsal fin, rounded anal fin and forked tail. With brightband around its middle.
Big eye (don’t confuse with bright-eye damsel); very pointy posterior dorsal and anal fins, and very forked tail, all with dark margins. Body is pale yellowish brown.
Classic damselfish shape – long pointed posterior dorsal and anal fins. (Like some damsel in flowing silk attire). Yellow-blue body with yellow pelvic and anal fins; darker blue band along top of back.
Identifiable by the dark bar towards the tail, behind which the tail is white. Otherwise body is a pale brown.
Also called the Indo-Pacific or Banded Sergeant for self-explanatory reasons. Has five vertical bars (including one at base of tail) usually blue but sometimes almost black and often yellow on top.
