The House Reef is essentially in the channel beside Uepi Island Resort between its Welcome Jetty and the Dive Jetty. This section of the Charapoana passage is a delight at any time of day – or night – as a dive or a snorkel. If you want a close encounter with reef sharks in the Solomons – this is the place to go.

As well as the usual mid-sized reef fish like butterflies and angels, there are all manner of wrasse,

But it’s the reef sharks swimming just metres away that make this dive one of the most enthralling in the Solomons.

Particularly when they swim between you and the reef wall.

Over on the lagoon side, you might encounter a turtle on your snorkel, but more likely sea anemones with Clownfish…
